Commitment Expedition

The Commitment Expedition, in partnership with UN Habitat and the Meu Oceano Institute, aims to impact 270 coastal cities with populations under 70,000 through educational practices and student training focused on preserving coastal and marine environments. The project will engage schools and local community groups in socio-educational activities using school boats and mobile laboratories. These initiatives will address the impact of waste on oceans and coasts and how to repurpose it using the methodology of the UNICOS Project (click here to learn more about this project), as well as how to make cities and communities more sustainable.

The Commitment Expedition will kick off in 2020, starting with five cities along the São Paulo coast: Peruíbe, Santos, Ilhabela, Caraguatatuba, and Ubatuba.
